The Legends Tournament primarily consists of two events:
The Challenge
The Bracket
The Legends Challenge
The Legends Challenge is a four round event that:
Gives players the opportunity to qualify for The Bracket
Provides seeding for The Bracket
Any player who wants to participate in The Bracket must also play in The Challenge event even those who earned automatic qualifying spots in the upcoming Bracket. This helps ensure that all qualified players actually want to participate and helps determine seeding for the Bracket.
The Challenge will be open for April 6-9. More details will be announced (along with the Event Code) on this page and the partnering Facebook Groups.
Any player who finishes in the Top 64 in The Challenge (including ties) will qualify for The Bracket as long as they meet all other criteria.
Any automatic invitees who play in The Challenge but fail to make the Top 64 will still have a spot in The Bracket, but their seed will be lower than players who make the Top 64.
Players may only play The Challenge one time on one account. Any identified instance of players breaking this rule will result in their disqualification from The Legends Tournament.
Participants must be a member of either the Disc Golf Valley Players Page or Global Disc Golf Club on Facebook to qualify for The Bracket.
The Legends Bracket
The Legends Bracket is an invitation-only, single elimination, head-to-head tournament to determine one Legends Champion.
Qualifications for Invitation
Legends Champion (Lifetime)
Legends Top 8 (One Year)
Global League Top 5 (3 Most Recent Seasons)
Valleague Winning Team (Most Recent Season)
VDDO Winner (One Year)
European Open Winner (One Year)
10x Pro Tour Winner (Lifetime)
Top 64 Finisher (ties included) in The Legends Challenge (Most Recent)
The total number of invitees may vary from Bracket to Bracket and will not be finalized until The Challenge has closed.
Each head-to-head match will require the two paired players to use Play with Friends mode (Default Bag + Random Layout) until one player wins 2 nine-hole rounds. Ties do not count as wins.
The Top 4 matches will require a player to win 3 nine-hole rounds.
The Final match will require a player to win 4 nine-hole rounds.
Matches must take place during a designated 5-day window per round. A countdown timer for that round will be on the Legends page.
If players are unable to schedule a head-to-head match, they can ask for approval to play in the Pro Tour event that overlaps with the 5-day match window. The player with the better score in that Pro Tour will be considered the winner. Ties in the Pro Tour will be broken by Challenge scores. Requests must be emailed to league@globaldiscgolf.club.
If a match doesn't happen within the match window, and those players didn't ask for a Pro Tour consideration, then the player with the better seed will advance by forfeit.
Match results must either be emailed to league@globaldiscgolf.club or posted as a comment on the pinned post on either participating Facebook group. Match results must be communicated BEFORE the countdown clock for that round expires. Failure to communicate match results will result in both players forfeiting their match and providing a bye for their would-be opponent in the next round.
Any player who wants to participate in The Bracket must also play in The Challenge event.
Participants must be a member of either the Disc Golf Valley Players Page or Global Disc Golf Club on Facebook to qualify for The Bracket.
