Global Rankings compares all players based on their results from several recent events and game modes.

Eligible Events:
1. Are free to play
2. Require no event code to play
3. Only use a player's default bag
4. Have a combined leaderboard for all players (may exclude tiered events)
5. Are available long enough for all players to play (no live events)
6. Have results in a format Global Disc Golf can utilize

The events are split into two categories: Majors and Opens
Majors = DGV Worlds, Global League, Multiplayer Seasons (Final Rating)
Opens = Rumbles (free), Holiday Events (April Fools, Valentine's, Winter Challenge, etc)

Formula:
Majors
- Global Rankings look at the 5 most recent Majors and drops each player's 1 worst performance.
- The player who finishes 1st receives 1000 points for the win, and one point is subtracted from the point total for every place after that. ie 2nd = 999, 3rd = 998, etc.
- If a player finishes worse than 1000th or does not play, they will get 0 points for that event.
Opens
- Global Rankings look at the 8 most recent Opens and drops each player's 4 worst performances.
- The player who finishes 1st receives 500 points for the win, and one point is subtracted from the point total for every place after that. ie 2nd = 499, 3rd = 498, etc.
- If a player finishes worse than 500th or does not play, they will get 0 points for that event.

A player's 8 eligible events are scored according to these rules to calculate their Total Points (out of a max 6000 possible points), and then players are ranked by Total Points.

The goal is to update the Global Rankings at the end of each Multiplayer Season and incorporate any new Majors or Opens that happened during that window. The formula is also subject to change over time.
